And just like that we are entering Week 3 of the ‘25 College Football season. So far this season has been lining up for major chaos. We’re a third of the way through September and we’ve had 5 ranked matchups with 3 of them being top 10 matchups in Week 1. We’ve been itching for more explosive Saturday’s like Week 1, what are we going to get in Week 3?
I’m going to pretend Thursday and Friday’s games don’t exist because I don’t even want to acknowledge K-State currently. So let’s check in on what our top 25 teams are doing on Saturday and see what other games are waiting to pop off. Oregon strolls into a sleepy Northwestern just after embarrassing OK State 69-3, good luck Wildcats. Clemson is struggling to catch its breath after the scare with Troy and will be greeted by a hungry Georgia Tech team in Atlanta. Wisconsin looks to complete their home-and-home with Alabama but they’re not sure which Alabama team will be there on Saturday. Michigan will get to rebound against a directional school and Penn State continues the cupcake streak against Villanova. You have to ask… does playing these soft non-con games really help a team like Penn State who just consistently fails during crunch time? Ahhh found it! Just what we’ve been looking for. #6 Georgia takes on #15 Tennessee in Knoxville at 3:30pm. This game will most definitely serve as a measuring stick later in the season.
And while ESPN and College GameDay want you to believe that the SEC matchup is the game of the week, I’m here to steer you away from those suits! Real Ball knowers know that while Georgia vs Tennessee is going to be a great game, the most pivotal game of the weekend is Alex Golesh’s South Florida Bulls heading to Hard Rock Stadium to take on Carson Beck and the #5 Miami Hurricanes. Miami has started their season strong by beating Notre Dame 27-24 and dominated Bethune-Cookman 45-3. With transfer QB Carson Beck they’re set up for the playoff run they missed last year… well not if the Bulls have anything to say about it. USF enters this week at #18 in the AP Poll after kicking down Boise State and Florida’s doors. I can only think of the Grim Reaper knocking on doors meme as I think of this USF team. Can they really march into Miami and take down ANOTHER RANKED OPPONENT?! Tune into the CW, yes I SAID THE CW this Saturday at 4:30PM to find out.
