Again life has been a little crazy for me so this week we're just going to focus on the plays. Let's have a Saturday.
WEEK 11 PLAYS
INDIANA -13.5
This is kind of a no-brainer no? I know I’ve said that before but I’d rather be wrong here betting on Indiana than think Penn State is just going to flip a switch. The snowball of a season that Penn State is having isn’t just going to stop or turn itself around regardless of the talent on the roster. On the other side Cignetti is licking his chops at the chance to embarrass Penn State in Happy Valley. Inside the key number here is important. But this Hoosier train is rolling straight to the BIG10 championship and earning style points along the way.
MISS STATE +9.5
Mississippi State has been playing good ball lately under Jeff Lebby. They beat ASU at home and took both Texas and Tennessee to OT at home. They’re averaging nearly 40 ppg at home and 25.5 in SEC play. As we’ve seen all year this Georgia team is good but they’re human. They often get off to slow starts, they’re pass rush isn’t as dominant as we’re used to and next week they have a game against Texas. Mississippi State has been close to playing spoiler all year I’ll take the points.
OREGON/IOWA OVER 41.5
I’ve been back and forth on this 100 times. I’d love to give out Oregon here but the numbers a bit big for them on the road and I don’t quite trust them yet but… Dan Lanning will have this team fired up. Oregon is coming off a bye after a somewhat embarrassing game int he rain against Wisconsin. Oregon will be ready heading into Kinnick… but so will Iowa. Iowa is on a hot streak and is has been scoring averaging just under 31 ppg this season. While their defense is good, it won’t be good enough to stop Dante Moore and the Oregon offense from scoring. Each team goes over 21 in this one.
TEXAS AM -7
We all know how I feel about Mizzou. They’re nowhere near as good as they are on paper and they crumble against good teams. This Aggies team is looking like a real national title contender and is loaded in every unit. Mizzou is also down to their 3rd string QB and while he hasn’t been bad he hasn’t seen a defense like Mike Elko’s Aggies. Texas A&M goes into Mizzou takes care of business before welcoming LaNorris Sellers and South Carolina next week.
WASHINGTON -10.5
Wisconsin is just a dead team and soon to be dead program if they don’t make a change. I and just about anyone else who was excited for Luke Fickell is beyond confused as to what’s going on here but it’s not going to get better with more money. Wisconsin isn’t going to have some sort of turnaround or culture change over night. Washington does scare me a bit traveling this far but they’re fighting for a 10-2 season with a win over Oregon in the final week getting them into the playoff. Washington has so much more to play for and I’m sure they’re well aware of the way Oregon looked at Camp Randall.
