At this point I'm not even sure fortune tellers could have seen this CFB season coming. Between the playoff committee's shenanigans, the AP Poll's nonsense, Vandy being a playoff contender and Florida State who knows what is going to happen next. That's the beauty of this sport, Any Given Saturday really. Let's make this Saturday our Saturday.
MIZZOU/OKLAHOMA UNDER 42.5
ARKANSAS/TEXAS OVER 57.5
USC +10.5
GEORGIA TECH -2.5
FLORIDA +4
MIZZOU/OKLAHOMA UNDER 42.5
Mizzou’s QB room has been cursed this season forcing them to be one dimensional with one of the best RBs in the country, Ahmad Hardy. Unfortunately for the Tigers Oklahoma is one of the best defenses in the country especially against the run. They rank in the top 5 in opp rush ypg and opp yards per rush. Without a reliable QB the Sooners (at home) will be laser focused on Ahmad Hardy. On the other side Mizzou’s defense is no slouch ranking top 20 in most defensive categories as well. Mateer has been extremely average in conference and the Sooner OL ranks #97 in sacks allowed %. Mizzou ranks #5 in sack percentage and will get after Mateer. Mateer is averaging less 1 passing TD and 190 ypg in conference play. Both defenses show out here OU walks away with a win and the Under is never in question.
ARKANSAS/TEXAS OVER 57.5
Arkansas is a walking over and we love the total starting with anything less than 6. Arkansas allows 35+ ppg in SEC play and will be facing a Texas offense that excels at home. Texas ranks as the #28 scoring offense in the country at home and will be facing off against the #121 overall scoring defense. Taylen Green and the Razorbacks can score on anyone as they’re averaging 31 ppg in SEC play! Meanwhile people love to talk about how good the Longhorns’ defense is but I dug deeper. Texas ranks 9th in the SEC in ppg in conference play, allowing 25+ ppg. I have no doubt Bobby Petrino and this Arkansas offense can put up points here and try to play spoiler.
USC +10.5
Oregon’s defense is good but who have they played? They haven’t played a real offense yet besides Indiana who handed them their only loss. USC performs best when their OL is moving and can protect the QB to allow for explosive plays down field. They shouldn’t have to worry much about Oregon’s pass rush as they rank 90th in the country in sacks 54th in sack percentage. Oregon also has a sneaky poor RZ defense. While they only allowed the 4th fewest RZ drives, 94% of them ending in a score and 72% resulting in a TD. USC lives off explosive plays with Makai Lemon and Ja’Kobi Lane in the pass game. If they could rip off a few they should have no problem converting for 6. The Trojans are a live dog in this game for sure.
GEORGIA TECH -2.5
I been so high on this team since the pre season and I can’t turn my back on Haynes King or Brent Key. This is a bit of an emotional play but if you watched what PItt put on the field against ND, I don’t know how you back them this week. Regardless of Narduzzi’s antics about that not being an ACC game they straight up got bullied. Brent Key is the guy who bullies bullies. This is a flag plant like Vandy was against LSU. Georgia Tech covers at Bobby Dodd Stadium under the lights.
FLORIDA +4
I’ve been smelling a fraud in the rankings for awhile and I think it’s Tennessee. Sure they played a close one against Georgia but they haven’t really beaten anyone worth celebrating. They’ve been tested three times and failed all three (UGA, BAMA, OU). Florida is an odd situation but these Gators are still fighting. They haven’t gotten many opportunities to play at home and they’ll take advantage of one here. While they are extremely disappointing, they’re talented enough to hang with teams like Georgia and beat Texas in the swamp. If they can get Jadan Baugh rolling they did against Miss State (rushed for 150) they shouldn’t have too much of a problem. The Volunteer defense ranks #107 in the country in rush ypg allowed in conference play at 183 ypg. Florida is a serious moneyline consideration, they could win this one outright.
