WEEK 0 IS FINALLY HERE!

We've finally made it. From now until 2025 we will have football on EVERY SATURDAY. While week 0 is only 4 games, that's 4 more than we had last week! In terms of betting and picks for this week I only have one but next week we will hit the ground running with a full slate. We'll treat this week as preseason. With that being said let's get started...

#10 Florida State vs Georgia Tech

FSU and Georgia Tech will take a trip out to Ireland to open up the season in Week 0. I could understand why someone would look at this line and say how is FSU not at least a 2 TD favorite?! Well if you’d been paying attention to my earlier roster breakdowns you’d know neither of these teams are not what they were last season. Not only are they playing a week earlier than everyone else but they’re traveling to a different continent to do it! This gives me a bit of hesitation on this game as it could be difficult to hit the ground running in these circumstances.

I’m not super high on FSU this year but in order to compete for the national title in January, they’ll need to take care of business in games like this. Georgia Tech has a revamped offense led by Haynes King that looks to put up points this year, but FSU’s defense is no joke. While losing guys like Jared Verse and Braden Fiske they still return some key pieces and add a few transfers to the defense without much expected drop off. As I’ve said before DJ U is no Jordan Travis, but I’m more than confident in his ability to take on a Georgia Tech defense. It may even be the perfect tune up game to get ready for the season. Tech’s defense is built to stop the run and while FSU would like to lean on their run game, it won’t hurt to let DJ sling it a bit early against a middle of the road defense.

Mike Norvell is 4-1 SU in neutral site games and is 3-2 ATS in those 5 games at Florida State. Dating back through last year FSU is on a 12 game ACC win streak (8-4 ATS). I like Norvell and the Seminoles to get it done by 2 TDs or more in Dublin Week 0.
